Residential Bungalows (Further Information) Our six residential bungalows are called: Brambles, Chestnut, Nightingale, Camelia, Willows and Orchard.
Every pupil who stays on the bungalows has a key worker who will liaise with parents, therapists and social workers; ensuring the holistic needs of each young person are catered for. Each residence has a cook who prepares a varied, healthy and nutritious main meal at lunchtime and a high tea for when school is finished. During the evenings there are lively and engaging activities on and off site. We have Guides, Scouts, Swimming, Challenge Night, Advocacy Group and Arts and Crafts. Each bungalow is equipped with a computer which is set up for pupils to access for their home work or to play games on. Some bungalows have a PlayStation set up. During the weekends and holidays outings take place to various venues. There is a newly developed fun and leisure playground close to the bungalows which includes an accessible trampoline, roundabout and swings, this allows our students and their families to enjoy some time together with their siblings. We feel strongly as a residential team that learning takes place within the bungalows as well as at school. Chailey Heritage strives to create a stimulating 24 hour curriculum to empower all students to reach their full potential. We liaise closely with school staff to work towards each pupil’s individual learning targets. Click here for more information about the residential department. "It is evident that young people thoroughly enjoy staying in the residences and Ofsted has received positive feedback from parents and placing authorities of the care and support provided."
