Our Future

For over 100 years Chailey Heritage School has adapted to meet many different needs. The pupils we have been working with in recent years are very complex physically and medically, with a wide range of cognitive abilities. They come from all social backgrounds and many parts of the country.

However, we know that we will need to keep changing our provision to meet new needs - this is what we are here for as a charity. Recent innovations have been in developing our skills with PMLD children; building up our inclusion and dual placement work; developing outreach services; setting up a service for young people with dual sensory impairments and opening as a 52 week residential children's home.

Projects we develop are always needs-led. There is a larger demand than ever for education and care for young adults, so we have expanded and diversified our provision in our 16+ Department and will continue to do so. This year we are extending our services to provide a Young Adults' Transition Service for young adults aged 19-25 years.

We cannot predict everything that the future may hold for Chailey Heritage School, but we will continue to ensure that it is led by the needs that are out there; that it is of the highest quality; and that by using our charitable status and the hard work of all our fundraisers and the generosity of our donors, is excellent value for money for all of our future clients.
