Our pool is big enough to give every young person in each class lots of space to exercise. It is heated to hydrotherapy temperature which is really lovely. It has a slide and a jacuzzi corner. There is music and lots of toys and equipment to use. We enjoy it so much we don't know we are working hard! The pool has recently been fitted with black-out blinds to enable a multi-sensory experience for the young people at Chailey. In the middle of June we held a week long sponsored swim, which all classes were involved in, to raise enough funds to purchase underwater lights. A staggering £3,000 was raised by the fantastic efforts of the young people and staff. We are now exctied to announce that we are having four LED, remote controlled multi-colour lights fitted during October half term. We look forward to showing these off in the coming weeks. In July we held a special event which saw the young people and staff dancing to 70’s, 80’s and 90’s disco music. The blinds were drawn for added effect, along with the speakers filling the whole area with the beats and sounds of songs from the past. Sue dressed in the different fashions and showed the young people how to dance. They all experienced different and exciting new ways to move in the water.
