Manual Handling |
|
Whilst Chailey Heritage School is an educational environment, the pupils and their special needs necessitate an unusual level of moving and handling by the staff involved in their care and for that reason health and safety and in particular manual handling training is fundamental.
All new staff receive manual handling training during Induction. In addition, all staff will further attend refresher-training sessions at bi-annual intervals in accordance with the current legal recommendation (18 months-2 years). We have a Manual Handling Co-ordinator and Manual Handling Assessors who together educate in safe techniques and practices for the use of all our specialist equipment.
