We recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents, carers and families and welcome them in to the school. The Headteacher and staff actively encourage close links with parents to discuss their child’s progress and concerns, formally or informally. We understand that being a parent of a child with special educational needs can be demanding. - We keep parents informed of new initiatives and developments.
We listen to our parents and respond as appropriate to their needs and requests. Parents have recently told us that they would like more training to understand what they can do at home to support their child and the school. We are in the process of developing this service by consulting our parents about what further training or information sessions they would find useful and what time of the week would be most convenient for them to attend.
“Chailey Heritage School is outstanding ………. This is because parents, care staff, teachers, assistants, therapists and health staff all work in unison with a shared, dedicated sense of purpose with the individual learner as their focus.” (Ofsted Report – May 2007) More Testimonials
