Changes can be difficult for pupils and their parents, families and carers. Each department in the school has age appropriate strategies in place to support pupils and their parents through the changes they may make. Our strategies have demonstrated that with the right support and intervention the following changes can be managed successfully: · Pupils new in to the school · Pupils changing departments for the new academic year · Pupils changing class groups for the new academic year · Pupils leaving the school · Pupils moving on to dual placements · Pupils attending local day colleges
Planning for Life Beyond School
“The school increasingly gives post-16 learners greater opportunity to make their own choices and decisions. All are involved in the transition meeting to decide where they will go and what they will do after leaving school. Learners and their parents are carefully guided and supported throughout the processes of joining and leaving the sixth form.” (Ofsted Report - May 2007) |
