Working with us

Many staff and volunteers at Chailey Heritage School tend to stay with us many years. This is because the young people are wonderful to work with and there is excellent teamwork across the site. There is a real sense of making a difference, and belonging to something very special.

However, with a workforce of around 220 people, we do often need to recruit new staff. All new staff undergo thorough induction training, and then all staff attend regular training updates. New staff have mentors and careful support in their early months. Our young people need the adults around them to be thoroughly skilled in what they are doing.

We always need new volunteers. We could not run all our riding sessions, swimming clubs, outings and so much more without our dedicated volunteers. Each volunteer undergoes the same initial training as any member of staff, and is supported by the Volunteer Co-ordinator while they are with us. It is a very fulfilling thing to do for many people.

This section of the site will let you know of vacancies, volunteering opportunities, how to apply, our selection and enhanced CRB processes, and more. If you are interested in working with us, we hope to hear from you.
