Clerk to Governors

Salary £6558 pa pro rata - required asap

Part-time, term-time only (plus one week during the summer holidays)

We are looking for a Clerk to Governors with excellent communication, administrative and IT skills to work with our Governing Body, the Headteacher and the Director of Social Care. The Clerk will also provide support and guidance with statutory requirements, e.g. Ofsted frameworks. The Clerk will also act as the Secretary to the Jewell Bequest Charitable Trust. Previous experience of being a Clerk to Governors is desirable although training may be available to the right applicant. You will need to show proven strengths at the very highest level in the following areas: administrative skills including taking minutes; IT knowledge; communication skills. You will also need to be an excellent team player, a multi-tasker and be able to work to tight deadlines. Experience of a busy office is also essential. There is some flexibility within the working hours dependent on the needs of this role but an average of 17-20 hours per week is expected during term-time. The Clerk will also need to work one week through school holidays, although this can be a flexible arrangement.

Residential Support Workers

£15,720 - £18,248 (37 hour week shift work)

We are currently looking to employ a team of dedicated staff to support a young lady with a debilitating health condition within one of our residential bungalows. Previous experience in supporting young people with disabilities who can present complex behaviours and an understanding of positive behaviour management is essential. Specific training for this and every day health care needs will be provided, as will ongoing support. The role is based within the residential bungalow, and involves shift work, including some weekends and Bank Holidays. However, knowledge of education would be an advantage as this role will involve working in the school alongside the teachers and teaching assistants. Part of the role will be to support with activities, so if you can swim and drive one of our vehicles that would be an advantage.
