We are seeking caring and committed individuals to work in our residential bungalows, to provide person centred support to children and young adults with physical disabilities and complex health needs, in order to promote independence and personal fulfilment. We have vacancies within the Young Adults Transition Service (Futures@ChaileyHeritage) and the Children's Home at Chailey Heritage for support workers. Due to restrictions we are unable to recruit personnel who are under 23 years of age; we will however take applications from prospective candidates who are within 3 months of their 23rd birthday. There is also the opportunity for candidates who can demonstrate the required knowledge and experience, as shown in the person specification/job description, to be considered for higher posts. All posts in the residential bungalows involve early and late shift patterns, weekend work; some split shifts may be required.
Temporary Swimming Instructor (Full Time / Term Time only)
To provide cover from September 2014 for approximately 3 months.
Rate of pay negotiable according to experience and qualifications.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of:
• Planning, writing and delivery of swimming sessions for children and young adults with physical and learning disability according to Ofsted requirements
• Assessment and recording of outcomes
• Directing small teams of assistants, ensuring there is adequate staffing available for each session
• Working with a range of ages from 5 – 19 years
• Lead dry side activities within a class/hall environment in the event of the pool being closed
• Overseeing all areas of H&S within a pool environment
• Manual handling of children & young people (training can be given)
• Give supervision to immediate swimming team assistants
You will hold a recognised teaching/instructor qualification; have rescue test training; experience in hydrotherapy techniques (desirable); experience of working with children & young people with disability.
Welfare/Lunchtime Assistants (School)
Salary - £3,607 pa pro rata for 10 hours (£8.02 per hour)
Hours: Part Time up to 10 hours per week
Working Monday to Friday 12 -2pm term time only; assisting children with their lunch, personal care and a variety of activites; providing a positive and fulfilling experience, as part of a very dedicated team.
